Welcome

DHSB School

Welcome to our new DHSB Alumni & Archives site.  As 2021 is a significant year for the school, celebrating its 125th anniversary, it is an apt time to reflect on, and embrace its history, from the original small premises in Albert Road, to its present day home in the former Stoke Military Hospital, built in 1797.

Please make yourself comfortable and take a nostalgic stroll through our pages and memory lane.  You will find many photographs and may even spot yourself!  Other pages include our archive collections of school magazines (dating back to 1904), Speech Day programmes, memorabilia and recollections.  If you can add to our archives, please contact us.

DHSB is always very grateful if you are able to help us in any way.  A question we are asked is how past students can give something back.  Here are some suggested ways:

  • Representing your profession at our careers related events held throughout the academic year

  • Giving ‘Inspire Lectures’ to inspire boys on topics, such as careers, research, or university.

  • Mentoring students for life after school: advising on career paths, through university, and job             applications.

  • Donating to DHSB to maintain or improve standards of education and facilities.

  • Sponsoring specific areas of school life such as sports, extra-curricular activities, and school           events.

  • Leave a legacy

  • Sign up to the school lottery, please follow this link to do so:

This has been our main source of fundraising during the pandemic as all events had to be               cancelled.

Perhaps you have your own ideas too which we would love to hear.

Before you go please stop off at our shop where all profits will benefit the school.  You will find a range of merchandise, including polo shirts (which can be made bespoke with your own years at DHSB), ceramic mugs, travel mugs (leak proof!), umbrellas and even a Christmas tree decoration which doubles as a fridge magnet for the remaining 11 months of the year!  We are also selling our new fantastic commissioned print by local artist Sarah Smalldon.  Also if you never bought your whole school photograph you can do so now (digital and hard copies available).

There is an Old Boys’ Association which you may like to join.  It costs £10.00 per year, for which you will receive the annual DHSB Magazine and newsletters.  Please email alumni@dhsb.org for joining details.

Thank you for visiting and please keep in touch! Feel free to contact myself, Beverley Kinsella (Alumni Engagement & Archives), or Geoff Davis (Business Manager) at alumni@dhsb.org with any queries.
